COL FB: Delaware, Colgate advance

NEW YORK, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Germaine Bennett rushed for 186 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lead Delaware to a I-AA semifinal 24-9 win over Wofford.

The Blue Hens (14-1) will oppose Colgate (15-0) on Friday night in the Division I-AA championship game in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Colgate extended its winning streak to 21 games with a 36-24 victory over Florida Atlantic. The Raiders' streak is the longest current run in the country in either Division I-A or I-AA.

Delaware ended the championship dreams of Wofford (12-2).

Bennett scored on a two-yard run late in the third quarter. He went five yards for a score with 6:41 to play and iced the victory with a 15-yard TD run with 2:42 left.

Trey Rodgers completed 7-of-14 passes for 65 yards for Wofford.

Chris Brown threw three touchdown passes and ran for another for Colgate.
