ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 11 (UPI) -- Defenseman Ruslan Salei scored the game-winner Wednesday night as Anaheim rallied for a 3-2 win over San Jose.

Salei ended a 30-game goal-scoring drought on a fluke shot with 11:51 left. His seemingly harmless wrist shot from the left point appeared to be going wide of the net, but it hit the stick of Sharks center Alyn McCauley at the bottom of the left faceoff circle and eluded goaltender Vesa Toskala.

It was the first regular-season goal for Salei since March 2, who had two in Anaheim's run to the Stanley Cup Finals, including the overtime winner in Game Three against New Jersey.

Petr Sykora scored just 49 seconds before Salei, helping the Ducks rally from a 2-0 deficit. They won for the first time this season when allowing the first goal or trailing after one period.

Martin Gerber, making his second straight start, stopped 18 shots for Anaheim, which has won consecutive games following a 1-3-3-2 stretch.

Scott Hannan and Scott Parker scored for the Sharks.
