NFL: Tampa Bay 14, New Orleans 7

NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Simeon Rice had three sacks Sunday as the Tampa Bay defense harassed Aaron Brooks and shut down Deuce McAllister on the way to a 14-7 win over New Orleans.

Led by Rice, a speed-rushing defensive end, the Buccaneers made life miserable the entire afternoon for Brooks, who fumbled four times, losing three.

The Bucs also had little trouble with McAllister, who had his string of consecutive 100-yard games stopped at nine. He was limited to 69 yards on 22 carries.

Brad Johnson threw two touchdown passes to lead the offense for Tampa Bay (6-7), which has slim playoff hopes.

It was a damaging loss for the Saints (6-7), who squandered a chance to move over .500 for the first time this season. The Saints also had a three-game winning streak against the Bucs stopped.
