NASHVILLE, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Edgerrin James rushed for 95 yards and two touchdowns Sunday as Indianapolis edged Tennessee, 29-27, to take the lead in the AFC South.
Also for the Colts, Marvin Harrison caught 10 passes for 124 yards. The win gave the Colts (10-3) a one-game lead over Tennessee (9-4) and a sweep of the season series for the tiebreaker advantage.
The difference in this game was turnovers.
Indianapolis made none; the Titans made four. Three of Tennessee's miscues led to field goals by Mike Vanderjagt.
The last turnover, by Justin McCareins on a fumbled punt return, spoiled any chance of a rally by quarterback Steve McNair, who brought the Titans back from a 29-13 deficit with a pair of fourth-quarter touchdown passes and a two-point conversion run after the first one.
Cliff Crosby forced the fumble by McCareins, clinching the win for Indianapolis.
