COL BKB: Central Mich 69, Notre Dame 68

SOUTH BEND, Ind., Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Joe Carr nailed a 3-pointer at the buzzer Saturday as Central Michigan shocked No. 20 Notre Dame, 69-68.

The Chippewas, who rallied from a five-point deficit in the final 20 seconds, trailed, 68-66, after Jordan Cornette made 1-of-2 free throws with four seconds left.

Carr nailed a shot from the top of the arc to stun the Fighting Irish (2-2), who lost a second straight game. They had their first setback on Monday at Marquette.

Kevin Nelson scored 17 points and Brandon Voorhees added 13 for Central Michigan (2-4), which had lost its first two all-time contests against Notre Dame.

Chris Thomas had 24 points to pace the Irish, who held a 64-59 lead after the point guard nailed a jumper with 27 seconds left.
