NHL: Atlanta 6, Anaheim 2

ATLANTA, Dec. 5 (UPI) -- Marc Savard kept his hot scoring touch Friday night in carrying Atlanta past Anaheim, 6-2.

Savard scored the first two goals and added an assist as Atlanta won for just the second time in its last six games. Savard has seven points in his last three games.

Atlanta's J.P. Vigier scored for the fourth straight game while Vyacheslav Kozlov had a four-point night with two goals and two assists.

Thrashers goaltender Byron Dafoe made 35 saves for his first win since Feb. 7. It was just his fourth game this season as starter Pasi Nurminen got the night off.

Joffrey Lupul scored both of Anaheim's goals. The first one cut the deficit to 2-1 in the second period, but Atlanta responded with two goals over the next 2 1/2 minutes.
