COL BKB: Florida 78, Arizona 77

SPRINGFIELD, Mass., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Bonell Colas converted a layup with 7.3 seconds remaining Friday night as No. 8 Florida edged third-ranked Arizona, 78-77, in the MassMutual Classic.

It looked as if the Wildcats (1-1) were on their way to a win after Salim Stoudamire's jumper made it 77-73 with 2:38 remaining.

But Anthony Roberson split two free throws and made a layup with 2:01 to play, pulling the Gators within 77-76.

Stoudamire, an 86 percent free-throw shooter last season, missed the front end of a one-and-one with 23.8 seconds to go. Following a timeout, the Wildcats got caught defensively as Colas cut to the basket and made a layup off Christian Drejer's inbounds pass to put Florida (2-0) ahead for good.

Stoudamire missed a pull-up jumper and Andre Iguodala could not convert the tip as time expired.
