Holmstrom sidelined indefinitely

DETROIT, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Detroit Red Wings right wing Tomas Holmstrom will be sidelined indefinitely with a dislocated right shoulder, the team announced Friday.

Holmstrom was injured in Wednesday's 7-1 rout of the Edmonton Oilers and coach Dave Lewis does not expect the scrappy Swede to be back anytime soon.

"Homer will be out for a while," Lewis said.

One of nine Red Wings who played in all 23 games this season, the 30-year-old Holmstrom is ninth on the team in scoring with five goals and five assists.

"I couldn't really lift the arm," he said. "There was a lot of pain."

Already without injured regulars Henrik Zetterberg, Dominik Hasek, Derian Hatcher, Ray Whitney and Darren McCarty, Detroit filled the latest roster spot by recalling center Nathan Robinson from Grand Rapids of the American Hockey League.
