COL BKB: Kentucky 108, Tennessee Tech 81

LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Gerald Fitch scored 25 of his career-high 36 points in the first half Friday night, leading No. 9 Kentucky to a 108-81 victory over Tennessee Tech.

Fitch, who made 14 of 20 shots, helped the Wildcats spoil the homecoming of Tennessee Tech coach Mike Sutton, who was an assistant at Kentucky from 1997-2002.

Kentucky (2-0) opened a 50-35 halftime lead before steadily pulling away to improve to 3-0 all-time against Tennessee Tech.

All five starters scored in double figures for the Wildcats, with Cliff Hawkins and Chuck Hayes recording double-doubles. Hawkins registered 17 points and 11 assists and Hayes finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds.

Willie Jenkins and Keyon Boyd scored 18 points apiece for the Golden Eagles (2-1).
