NHL: Colorado 4, N.Y. Rangers 3

DENVER, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Steve Konowalchuk scored twice Thursday night, including the go-ahead goal in the second period, as Colorado turned back the New York Rangers, 4-3.

Also for the winners, David Aebischer made 31 saves for his league-leading 11th win.

Konowalchuk, obtained from Washington on Oct. 22, has three two-goal games with Colorado and has scored seven goals in his last eight games. Colorado was 2-3-0 before the trade and 10-2-1-1 since.

The Capitals' former captain opened the scoring 6:52 into the contest, and scored again with 3:24 to go in the second to put Colorado ahead after the Rangers had tied the game 2-2.

Aebischer extended his personal winning streak to six games, turning aside 13 shots in the final 20 minutes. He was beaten by Matthew Barnaby with 3:32 remaining, but made several solid stops to remain unbeaten in four career starts against the Rangers.
