NBA: Indiana 76, New Orleans 75

NEW ORLEANS, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- David West missed a wide-open layup at the buzzer Friday night, allowing Indiana to remain unbeaten on the road with a 76-75 victory over New Orleans.

Baron Davis scored 33 points as he continued his season-long assault from beyond the arc, making seven of 10 three-pointers. But he missed one in the waning seconds with the Hornets trailing by one point.

Jermaine O'Neal was fouled on the rebound and missed both free throws. The Hornets called timeout with 1.1 seconds left and devised a play that used Davis as a decoy.

Davis came up from the baseline and set a back pick on Al Harrington, freeing West to go to the basket as Sean Rooks lobbed a perfect inbounds pass toward the rim.

West caught the ball and put it off the backboard. But the short shot bounced out as the horn sounded.
