DETROIT, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Already without rookie Charles Rogers, the Detroit Lions placed Scotty Anderson on injured reserve Wednesday with a severe high ankle sprain.

Anderson was injured in Sunday's loss at Seattle. He had 17 catches for a team-leading 325 yards and two touchdowns in seven games.

The Lions (3-7) filled the roster spot by signing receiver David Kircus from the practice squad.

"I expect something (from Kircus) because he is going to be playing," coach Steve Mariucci said. "He has been waiting for this opportunity and he is practicing hard and practicing well. Hopefully, he will take advantage of this opportunity."
