NEW YORK, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- After playing a career-high 81 games last season, New York Rangers center Eric Lindros has landed back on injured reserve.
Lindros, 30, has been scratched from New York's last two games after suffering a scratched left cornea in the first period of Wednesday's 6-2 win over Pittsburgh.
He missed seven games with a sprain in the area where his left shoulder and collarbone meet the chest, suffering that injury in a 3-1 win over Florida on Oct. 20.
For the season, he has two goals and four assists in eight games.
The 6-5 Lindros now has been sidelined for 76 games since the 1997-98 season because of injuries.
The 6-5 Lindros also led the Philadelphia Flyers to the Stanley Cup Finals in 1997, but played no more than 71 games in any of the next three seasons, hampered by a flurry of injuries, including a series of concussions.
In 647 career games, he has 348 goals and 443 assists with 1,239 penalty minutes.
