Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ATLANTA, Nov. 17 (UPI) -- Larry Hughes scored a season-high 26 points Monday as Washington snapped a four-game losing streak with a 106-97 victory over Atlanta.
Saturday, Hughes and the Wizards endured a rough night in a 95-71 home setback to the San Antonio Spurs. Hughes had 10 points in the first quarter but drew a technical and was ejected as the Wizards lost control of the contest in the second quarter.
In this one, Hughes helped the Wizards rebound from their most lopsided loss under first-year Coach Eddie Jordan.
Washington scored 31 points off turnovers. The Wizards used a 16-2 run to open a 92-80 advantage with just under four minutes remaining.
Jason Terry led the Hawks with 25 points and Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 20.
