Kasey Kahne, 23, was the leader on the final restart with 20 laps to go and pulled away for his first career Busch Series victory.

Green, the 1994 Busch champion, made up several positions down the stretch, but came up short and was ninth. He needed to finish fifth to surpass Vickers in the standings.

Ron Hornaday entered the race 39 points behind Vickers in third place, but managed to finish the season-ending event in 15th.

Martin Truex Jr. was second and Bobby Hamilton Jr. third, with Jason Leffler and Ashton Lewis Jr. rounding out the top five.

Vickers won the series title in just his second year. Rob Moroso had been the youngest to claim the series championship as a 21-year-old in 1989.
