ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Steve Yzerman scored with 7:42 left in the third period Saturday as the Detroit Red Wings rallied for a 1-1 tie with the Minnesota Wild.

Detroit squandered third-period leads in two of its previous four games, including Friday's 4-3 overtime win at Chicago. Trailing 1-0, the Red Wings earned a point thanks to Yzerman who has three goals in his last three games.

Yzerman gloved a pass out of the right corner from defenseman Chris Chelios and wristed a shot from the bottom of the right faceoff circle past goatender Dwayne Roloson for his ninth goal of the season.

Less than 10 minutes earlier, Roloson outwaited Datsyuk, getting his left arm on his penaty shot.

Andrew Brunette scored on the power play for Minnesota, which has just one win in its last four games (1-2-1).
