COL FB: Kansas State 38, Nebraska 9

LINCOLN, Neb., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Ell Roberson rushed for a tie-breaking 11-yard score and threw two TD passes Saturday as No. 25 Kansas State beat No. 15 Nebraska, 38-9.

It was the Wildcats routed first win in Lincoln since 1968.

The loss snapped Kansas State's 17-game losing streak at Nebraska. Kansas State has won five in a row since a three-game slide and can clinch the Big 12 Conference North title and a date in the league title game with Oklahoma with a win over Missouri next week.

Roberson appeared to be trapped on the go-ahead score as he rolled right. But he cut inside after getting a key block from wide receiver James Terry and faked out two defenders.

The score gave Kansas State (9-3) a 14-7 lead with 9:28 left in the third quarter and started a string of 24 straight points for the Wildcats.
