McMurray wins third straight Busch race

ROCKINGHAM, N.C., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- The curse of the NASCAR Busch Series points leader continued in Saturday's Target House 200, won by Jamie McMurray for the third straight time.

Scott Riggs, who entered the race with a 17-point lead over Ron Hornaday, hit the wall with 32 laps remaining, sending his Ford to the garage for extensive repairs.

That continued a recent trend where the driver leading the series entering a race has suffered problems in that event, giving the lead to another points challenger.

The beneficiary this time was pole sitter Brian Vickers, who now has a 22-point lead over David Green with one race remaining at Homestead, Miami. Green entered last week's Basha's 200 as the points leader, but failed to pit for fresh tires.

It was the first time Riggs did not finish a race this year.

Rookie Martin Truex Jr. passed Casey Mears for second place a lap later.
