AUBURN, Ala., Nov. 8 (UPI) -- Ben Obomanu dropped a pass in the end zone with 37 seconds left Saturday as No. 24 Mississippi posted a 24-20 win over Auburn.
Ole Miss (8-2) has won its first six SEC games for the first time since 1962 and is the only team yet to lose in conference play.
Obomanu caught a 68-yard tipped pass from Jason Campbell in the third quarter to give Auburn a 17-14 lead.
Mississippi regained the lead at 24-20 on a one-yard touchdown run by Brandon Jacobs with 2:39 left. The drive included a 55-yard pass from Eli Manning to Lorenz Towsend.
Auburn moved downfield with the help of a 51-yard screen pass from Campbell to Obomanu to the Mississippi 11.
On third down, Campbell found a wide-open Obomanu, who dropped the ball. The Tigers (6-4) had one more chance, but Eric Oliver batted down a pass.
