ATLANTA, Nov. 3 (UPI) -- Atlanta got 20 points from Dion Glover and 19 from Stephen Jackson Monday and held on for their first win of the season,90-80 over New Orleans.
Hawks leading scorer Jason Terry was suspended by the league one game after throwing an elbow during Saturday's 103-99 overtime setback to Indiana. His teammates picked up the slack against the Hornets, taking the lead for good less than two minutes into the game on a 3-pointer by Glover.
Atlanta pushed its advantage to 24-13 with 2:57 to go in the first quarter on a tip-in by Theo Ratliff.
New Orleans was denied the first 4-0 start in franchise history.
Shareef Abdur-Rahim contributed 18 points and nine rebounds for the Hawks, who won for the first time in four games. Robert Traylor led the Hornets with a career-high 20 points and 10 rebounds.
