Rodiles grabs lead as third round suspende

SOTOGRANDE, Spain, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Local favorite Carlos Rodiles moved into the lead Saturday as the third round of the Volvo Masters was suspended by darkness.

After play was postponed by rain on Friday, Rodiles birdied five holes on the back nine to card a 3-under-par 69 for the second round.

Despite two bogeys over the final four holes, Sweden's Fredrik Jacobson held a two-stroke lead over Rodiles after the second round. But Rodiles birdied the tenth and 11th holes and parred the 12th before darkness caused play to be halted with 29 other players not completing the third round.

Jacobson had a bogey after a penalty stroke on the 10th and pulled his tee shot on the 12th, causing another bogey.

Anders Hansen of Denmark is in third place, four strokes behind Jacobson. England's John Bickerton is tied for fourth with countrymen Brian Davis and Greg Owen at 3-under.
