Jaguars place James Trapp on IR

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Oct. 30 (UPI) -- The Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday placed cornerback James Trapp on the season-ending injured reserve list.

Trapp, 33, has been hampered all season by a sprained ankle suffered in training camp. He aggravated the injury in last Sunday's 30-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans. He was able to play in five regular season contest despite the injury.

Trapp, in his 11th year out of Clemson who also has played for the Raiders and Baltimore, had five tackles and one interception on defense and five tackles on special teams this season.

He won a Super Bowl with the Ravens in 2000.

To take Trapp's roster spot, Jacksonville (1-6), which plays the Ravens on Sunday, has activated defensive tackle Matt Leonard from the practice squad.
