Financial terms were not disclosed.

Flanigan, 32, spent last season with San Francisco and had 11 tackles and one sack in 15 games. The 6-2, 290-pounder was released by the 49ers in August.

The nine-year veteran also has played for Chicago and Green Bay.

"I'm a blue-collar type of guy," Flanigan said. "I rely more on my quickness and play as intensely as I can every time I'm out there. That's kind of how I've made it for nine or 10 years."

Defensive tackle Hollis Thomas suffered a season ending torn left biceps injury in Sunday's 24-17 win over the New York Jets. He was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Already lost for the season were ends Derrick Burgess and Jamaal Green and tackle Paul Grasmanis, and end Jerome McDougle, the team's first-round pick, has yet to play this season because of a severely sprained ankle.
