FOXBORO, Mass., Oct. 26 (UPI) -- The New England Patriots have placed right tackle Kenyatta Jones, who had been on the physically-unable-to-perform list, on waivers.
Jones, 24, recently was arrested and charged with assault following an incident at his home in Walpole, Mass.
The 6-3, 273-pounder was placed on the PUP list during training camp after undergoing surgery on both knees. The fourth-round pick in 2001 started 11 games at right tackle last season.
Jones, a fourth-round draft pick, 96th overall, in 2001. He was eligible to begin practicing after Week Six and was scheduled to start this past week until his arrest.
