NHL: Carolina 4, Philadelphia 4 (OT)

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Mark Recchi's goal with 3:10 remaining in the third period Saturday helped Philadelphia erase its third deficit and earn a 4-4 tie with Carolina.

The Flyers fought back from 2-0 and 3-2 deficits before Hurricanes defenseman Niclas Wallin scored his second goal of the game midway through the third period, giving Carolina a 4-3 edge.

Jeremy Roenick, Michal Handzus and Eric Chouinard also scored for the Flyers, who extended their home unbeaten streak against Carolina to eight games (6

2).

Defenseman Danny Markov and Radim Vrbata tallied for the Hurricanes, who went 0-for-3 on the power play and dropped to 1-for-28 this season.
