CHICAGO, Oct. 26 (UPI) -- Chris Chandler passed for 207 yards and a score Sunday afternoon as the Chicago Bears beat the Detroit Lions, 24-16.

Dick Jauron was named Coach of the Year after leading the Bears (2-5) to a 13-3 record and a division title in 2001. Since then, they had gone just 5-17, placing Jauron's job in peril.

The Lions fell into a 24-0 hole Sunday before staging a late rally.

Reggie Swinton started it with a 96-yard kick return for a touchdown with 5:23 left in the third quarter, and Joey Harrington connected with Az-Zahir Hakim on the two-point conversion.

Harrington's three-yard touchdown pass to tight end Mikhael Ricks and two-point conversion toss to Scotty Anderson pulled the Lions within 24-16 with 53 seconds left in the game.

The loss was the sixth straight for the Lions (1-6) after a season-opening win over Arizona.
