Price, Sorenstam in Golf Hall of Fame

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Nick Price and Annika Sorenstam were honored Monday night when the World Golf Hall of Fame held its annual induction ceremony.

Th two enter the with the late Leo Diegel and Hisako "Chako" Higuchi, who were selected through th Veterans and Lifetime Achievement categories, respectively.

Monday night's ceremony also included a tribute to comedian Bob Hope -- a 1983 Hall of Fame inductee -- and a look back at Ben Hogan's remarkable 1953 season.

Sorenstam became the first woman in 58 years to compete in a PGA Tour event when she teed it up at The Colonial in May. She missed the cut.

Sorenstam certainly is qualified for the Hall of Fame, winning 47 times in only 10 LPGA Tour seasons. In the last three years she has won 21 times.

Price captured 16 world titles. He won The Players Championship in 1993 and took both the British Open and PGA Championship in 1994.
