NFL: Philadelphia 14, N.Y. Giants 10

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Brian Westbrook returned a punt 84 yards for a touchdown with 1:16 remaining Sunday, lifting Philadelphia to a 14-10 victory over the New York Giants.

Westbrook, is in his second season, had been unspectacular through five games as the replacement for Brian Mitchell before coming up with the biggest play of his young career.

After the Giants failed to pick up a first down, which would have run out the clock, Westbrook made the play of the game.

He fielded a punt by Jeff Feagles on a bounce at his 16 and raced up the left sideline, avoiding a diving Marcellus Rivers on his way to the end zone. His return also helped overshadow an abysmal day for Donovan McNabb, who completed just 9-of-23 passes for 64 yards and an interception.

Despite McNabb's ineffectiveness, the Eagles (3-3) were able to avoid falling into last place in the division. Not so the Giants (2-4), who committed two costly turnovers in the loss.
