HOUSTON, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- Houston Rockets general manager Carroll has agreed to a contract extension.
Terms were not disclosed.
Dawson is entering his eighth season as general manager and 24th with the franchise. He also served as an assistant under four different coaches Del Harris (1980-83), Bill Fitch (1983-88), Don Chaney (1988-92), and Rudy Tomjanovich (1992-96).
"CD has meant so much to the Rockets and the NBA," said owner Leslie Alexander. "He has such a great way of dealing with people and producing results. Over the past few years, he has transformed an older team into one with great promise. He has shown so much loyalty to this city and this franchise."
Dawson's most recent moves include the drafting of Yao Ming with the top overall pick in 2002 and the hiring of former New York Knicks coach Jeff Van Gundy to replace Tomjanovich following the 2002-03 season.
