Navratilova, who will be 47 on Thursday, will be the oldest player ever to play in the Fed Cup, and will be returning to its competition for the first time since 1995.

"This team is very excited about going to Moscow and we are going there to win," King said. "These four women are experienced, and Martina brings additional power to our lineup and prestige to this international competition."

The semi-retired Navratilova, who won 20 titles at Wimbledon, has a spotless record of 37-0 in Fed Cup, playing singles and doubles. She has played Fed Cup 21 times, five of those for her native Czechoslovkia.

The U.S. meets Belgium in one tie on Nov. 22 in Moscow. France meets Russia in the other tie.
