GC HILVERSUM, Netherlands, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- Maarten Lafeber became the first home winner of the Dutch Open for more than half a century Sunday.

Lafeber, who lives in nearby Amsterdam, carded a 3-under-par 67 in the final round to claim his first European Tour title. The 28-year-old finished the tournament at 13-under 267 and earned $193,059.

Denmark's Soren Hansen and Swede Mathias Gronberg shared second place, two shots behind.

Welshman Jamie Donaldson finished tied for fourth at 10-under alongside another Dane, Steen Tinning, who eagled the last hole in his next to last event before retiring with a back injury.

Hansen began the day with a one-shot lead and stretched that to three with birdies at the second and third, the latter following an approach to within two feet of the flag.

Hansen's lead was trimmed to a single stroke when he bogeyed the eighth after driving into the trees.
