NBA: Cleveland 83, Atlanta 80

ASHEVILLE, N.C., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- On a quiet evening for LeBron James, Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 19 points Wednesday night as Cleveland held on to down Atlanta, 83-80.

James, the teen sensation selected first overall in the NBA draft, scored just six points in the exhibition game while making three of seven shots.

Playing the entire first and third quarters, the 6-8 swingman had one highlight, a breakaway dunk at the end of the third period.

But a bigger story may have been Ilgauskas, who had his minutes limited last season in an effort to reduce the strain on his fragile feet, which have had multiple fractures.

Playing 26 minutes for the second straight night, Ilgauskas made six of seven shots and grabbed eight rebounds.

The Hawks had a chance to force overtime, but free agent signee Lee Nailon missed a three-pointer at the buzzer.
