John Huston opens two-shot lead

MADISON, Miss., Oct. 3 (UPI) -- John Huston took control of the Southern Farm Bureau Classic Friday, firing a 6-under 66 for a two-stroke lead over Hidemichi Tanaka.

A 42-year-old in his 16th year on tour, Huston has overcome a lingering shoulder problem to lead at the halfway mark. His so many aches and pains that he sleeps on a magnetic mattress cover and wears magnets in the soles of his shoes.

Huston takes extended breaks late in the season. This is only his second tournament since he withdrew from the PGA Championship in mid-August.

Playing consecutive weeks for the first time since early June, Huston had a 36-hole total of 12-under 132.

Tanaka shot a 68 for a 134 total. South African Tim Clark and rookie Chris Anderson were at 135. Another stroke back were Paul Stankowski, defending champion Luke Donald of Britain and Japan's Shigeki Maruyama.
