Miami Fla 33, Boston Colege 14

Sept. 21, 2003 at 12:07 AM   |   Comments

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass., Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Roscoe Parrish had a 92-yard punt return and Sean Taylor a 67-yard intercepion as the No. 2 Miami (Fla) Hurricanes took a 33-14 win at Boston College.

Each of the previous four meetings between the teams in Massachusetts was not decided until the final play of the game. But this time the Hurricanes barely had to break a sweat.

Miami (4-0) was beginning its final trip around the Big East after deciding over the summer to leave for the Atlantic Coast Conference beginning in 2004.

Among the schools left behind was Boston College (2-2), which had its invitation rescinded from the ACC and Miami was expecting a rude reception.

Parrish made it 7-0 just 1:49 into the game when he returned a punt up the left sideline to break the school record of 91 yards set in 1991.

The Hurricanes have won 36 straight regular season games.
