Purdue 59, Arizona 7

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind., Sept. 20 (UPI) -- Kyle Orton passed for three touchdowns and Jerome Brooks rushed for 122 yards and two scores Saturday as Purdue rolled to a 59-7 rout Arizona.

Arizona (1-3) gained just 174 yards while allowing 580. Orton threw TD passes of 35 yards to Ray Williams in the first quarter and 81 yards to John Standeford in the second period as the Boilermakers (2-1) opened a 24-0 halftime lead.

The Boilermakers built their lead to 38-0 in the third quarter on Jerod Void's 13-yard TD run and Orton's 43-yard TD strike to Brandon Jones.
