ST. LOUIS, Sept. 14 (UPI) -- With Kurt Warner recovering from a concussion, the St. Louis Rams will turn to Marc Bulger for Sunday's NFC West game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Bulger made the most of his opportunity in Warner's absence last season, winning his first six starts before suffering a back injury in the first quarter of a 30-10 loss at Seattle on Dec. 22. He completed 138 of 214 passes for 1,826 yards and 14 touchdowns with six interceptions.
A two-time Most Valuable Player, Warner led the Rams to a Super Bowl title in 1999 and another trip to the Super Bowl in 2001. But last season was an injury plagued one for Warner, who was 0-6 in his starts.
Last week in the season opener, Warner fumbled six times, losing three, and was intercepted once in a 23-13 loss to the New York Giants.
