Oscar de la Hoya to fight Shane Mosley

LAS VEGAS, Sept. 13 (UPI) -- Oscar de la Hoya wants to fight the only two men who defeated him -- Felix Trinidad is retired -- but Saturday he gets his chance against Shane Mosley.

De la Hoya defends his WBC and WBA super welterweight belts at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

Mosley (38-2, 35 KOs) clearly outboxed and outpunched de la Hoya in June 2000 en route to a split decision in Los Angeles.

Not only did Mosley capture the WBC welterweight title, he also immediately was considered among the top pound-for-pound fighters in the world.

After dropping consecutive decisions to Vernon Forrest, who since has lost the belt, Mosley enters this bout as the underdog.

The 30-year-old de la Hoya (36-2, 29 KOs), said, "I will definitely be hungrier than ever, more than what I was

for Vargas, because of the fact that Mosley beat me."

Without a victory over a notable opponent since defeating de la Hoya, the 32-year-old Mosley also will be hungry, and will have something to prove as well.
