SEATTLE, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- One big inning ended two frustrating weeks for the Seattle Mariners.

Held to one hit through eight innings, the Mariners scored three times in the bottom of the ninth and defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 3-2, on a two-run single by John Olerud.

Seattle won for just the second time in 10 games and remained two behind first-place Oakland in the American League Western Division.
