INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Brad Pyatt returned the opening kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown and Indianapolis added two defensive touchdowns Friday night to defeat Cincinnati, 21-20.

After the Bengals grabbed a 14-7 halftime lead, the Colts tied it on David Macklin's 93-yard interception return 4:34 into the third quarter.

Indianapolis (3-1) grabbed a 21-14 lead when Raheem Brock returned a fumble 70 yards 6:18 into the fourth quarter.

Just 51 seconds later, the Bengals closed to within 21-20 when rookie Carson Palmer tossed a 68-yard touchdown strike to Lawrence Hamilton. But Cincinnati went for two points and Palmer's pass over the middle was broken up.

The Bengals (1-3) host Denver in their regular-season opener. The Colts open at Cleveland.
