Dallas 52, Oakland 13

IRVING, Texas, Aug. 28 (UPI) -- Quincy Carter passed for two touchdowns and Troy Hambrick ran for a pair of scores Thursday night as Dallas crushed Oakland, 52-13.

The 52 points were the most Dallas has scored in an exhibition game during its 44-year history.

After being named starting quarterback by Coach Bill Parcells last weekend, Carter completed 11 of 16 passes for 239 yards in just over two quarters of work.

He found Joey Galloway with a 69-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and connected with Richie Anderson from 25 yards out early in the third, giving the Cowboys a 38-7 lead.

Hambrick had touchdown runs of seven and 14 yards in the first half. He carried 12 times for 60 yards. Dallas (2-2) hosts Atlanta in its regular-season opener.

Oakland starting quarterback Rich Gannon played just one series and that ended with an interception.
