CINCINNATI, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- The Cincinnati Reds continued their shakeup Tuesday, making a four-player exchange on their 25-man roster.
Among Cincinnati's moves was the claiming of infielder Tim Hummel off waivers from the Chicago White Sox to complete last week's trade that sent Scott Sullivan and cash to the American League Central Division leaders.
Hummel, 24, was batting .284 with 15 home runs, 80 RBI and nine stolen bases for Class AAA Charlotte of the International League.
The Reds also placed outfielder Reggie Taylor on the 60-day disabled list. Taylor dislocated his left shoulder on a dive in the outfield Sunday against Houston.
Lefthander Mark Watson was placed on the 15-day DL with a kidney ailment.
Righthander Joe Valentine was optioned to Louisville of the International League, from where Cincinnati purchased the contracts of lefthanders Dan Serafini and Phil Norton, and righthander Scott Randall.
