Indiana 59, Cleveland 46

INDIANAPOLIS, Aug. 23 (UPI) -- Tamika Catchings and Natalie Williams each scored 15 points Saturday as the Indiana Fever posted a 59-46 WNBA victory over the Cleveland Rockers.

Indiana won for the second straight night and created a three-way tie for fourth place in the East with Cleveland and New York. All three teams are one game behind Connecticut and 1 1/2 games in back of second-place Charlotte in the East.

Catchings matched a career high with 32 points in Friday's victory at New York, but the Fever used defense to post their latest triumph.

Catchings' 3-pointer with 12 minutes to go gave Indiana the lead for good, 14-11. Kelly Schumacher scored five points in a 9-4 spurt to open the second half, extending the advantage to 36-26 with just over 16 minutes remaining.

Chasity Melvin scored 12 points and rookie LaToya Thomas added 11 for Cleveland.
