RENO, Nev., Aug. 21 (UPI) -- Andy Miller shot a 5-under-par 67 for a share of the clubhouse lead before rain halted play Thursday at the Reno-Tahoe Open.

Miller, the son of Hall of Famer Johnny Miller, had an eagle, five birdies and two bogeys at the Montreux Golf and Country Club, earning a share of the first-round lead with Bob Tway, Kirk Triplett, Steve Pate and Paul Stankowski.

Four others carded 68s before rain forced the suspension of play, leaving 56 players on the course. Another 10 had yet to tee off. Play will resume Friday at 11 a.m. EDT

The world's best players are in Akron, Ohio for the NEC Invitational, a World Golf Championships event.
