Another withdrawal for PGA Championship

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- Larry Nelson is the latest player to bow out of the PGA Championship, the last major tournament on the men's tour this season.

Nelson, a two-time winner of the event in 1981 and '87, has a hip injury. He is the fifth marquee name to withdraw from the event, joining Ian Woosnam, Nick Price, Nick Faldo, and Paul Lawrie.

Taking Nelson's spot in the field is Billy Andrade, who will be making his 14th appearance in the Championship. The field still has 11 former tournament winners expected to compete, including David Love III, who was very impressive last weekend in winning The International, Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, and defending champion Rich Beem, whose wife, Sara, gave birth to the couple's first child last month.

The tournament, to be played at Oak Hill Country Club in suburban Rochester, N.Y., starts Thursday.
