The 27-year-old Pistolesi earned her eighth career title. It is the second time she has won WTA Tour tournaments in consecutive weeks, having swept Auckland and Canberra in January 2002.

Kostanic was playing in her first WTA Tour singles final. A former world No. 3 junior, she had not lost a set this week through three qualifying and four main draw matches, until losing the second set to Pistolesi.
