Nuggets offer to Andre Miller stands

DENVER, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- The Denver Nuggets' offer for restricted free agent Andre Miller stands -- the Los Angeles Clippers have chosen not to match it.

The Clippers had until Friday to do so. They passed on Miller after deciding earlier this week to match the offer given to shooting guard Corey Maggette by the Utah Jazz.

The Denver Post said the Nuggets' offer for Miller was worth $55 million over six years.

Denver has been searching for a point guard since Nick Van Exel was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in February 2002.

Miller named to the 2000 NBA All-Rookie team with Cleveland spent three seasons with the Cavaliers before being traded to the Clippers.

The Los Angeles native averaged 13.6 points last season on career-low 40.6 percent shooting and 6.7 assists.
