Cincinnati 5, San Francisco 4

CINCINNATI, Aug. 2 (UPI) -- Pinch hitter Barry Larkin drew a bases-loaded walk to snap a seventh-inning tie and lift Cincinnati to a 5-4 victory Saturday over San Francisco.

After D'Angelo Jimenez had a one-out single off Felix Rodriguez (6-2) in the seventh, Scott Eyre came in with a switch-hitter and two lefthanded batters due up for the Reds.

Ray Olmedo greeted Eyre with a single to left. Adam Dunn walked on four pitches to load the bases and Larkin batted for pitcher Ryan Wagner. Giants Manager Felipe Alou elected to leave Eyre in to face and he looked at four straight balls to force home Jimenez for a 5-4 lead.

Wagner (1-0) got his first major league win, despite allowing two runs and two hits in two innings.

Barry Bonds hit his major league-leading 34th homer and Benito Santiago and Andres Galarraga added solo shots for San Francisco.
