Rain suspends play at Idea Prokom Open

SOPOT, Poland, July 28 (UPI) -- Anna Pistolesi of Israel and Slovakian Henrieta Nagyova were the only players to begin matches Monday as rain suspended play at the Idea Prokom Open.

Pistolesi has a 5-3 lead and was one of three seeded women scheduled to play in the Tier III claycourt tournament.

Fourth seed Denisa Chladkova of the Czech Republic will face Frenchwoman Stephanie Cohen-Aloro and No. 7 Dinara Safina of Russia will take on Polish wild card Joanna Sakowicz.

Five men's matches were slated for Monday. No. 4 David Nalbandian of Argentina and No. 6 David Sanchez of Spain were the two seeds scheduled to play. Nalbandian encounters Marc Rosset of Switzerland and Sanchez meets Swede Magnus Norman.
