MILWAUKEE, July 23 (UPI) -- Lance Berkman scored the tying run in the ninth and belted a solo homer off Danny Kolb in the 11th Wednesday night, rallying Houston past Milwaukee, 3-2.
Glendon Rush has the most losses in the National League with 12 and has been among the worst starters in baseball. He finally gave the Brewers a strong outing Wednesday night, allowing just one run while striking out a season-high nine in seven innings.
But Milwaukee could not hold the lead in the ninth. Berkman doubled off Valerio De Los Santos to start the inning and went to third on Brad Ausmus' sacrifice before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Eric Bruntlett.
Kolb (0-1) retired the first five batters he faced before Berkman drove a 2-1 pitch over the left field wall for a 3-2 edge.
