Oakland 10, Kansas City 0

KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 22 (UPI) -- Erubiel Durazo hit two of his team's five homers Tuesday afternoon as Oakland laced Kansas City, 10-0.

The Athletics pounded Kris Wilson (5-1), normally a reliever. He was pressed into starting duty for just the third time this season when Jose Lima suffered a groin injury in his last start. The righthander's first two starts also were against Oakland in May. He won both.

Durazo belted a two-run homer in the first, and Adam Piatt and Durazo hit back-to-back blasts in the third, making it 4-0, and the rout was on.

Wilson gave up six runs, five hits and a walk in five innings, and lost for the first time in eight decisions since Sept. 7, 2001.

Eric Chavez homered and drove in three runs for the A's, whose power surge made a winner of Tim Hudson (8-4). The righthander allowed just a second-inning single by Michael Tucker in seven innings, walking one and striking out eight.
